A very fiery welcome to you! Thanks for stopping by to read about Stuff That Fires Me Up …

I am a BBQ and Live Fire expert who writes, teaches and demonstrates about all sorts of fire cooking. I have written 12 cookbooks, many of them bestsellers and am passionate about helping you get better at cooking with fire, whether you have a pizza oven, a kettle BBQ, a Kamado Oven, a massive open plan grill or a dinky little fire pit you take camping. I can help with it all.

Stuff That Fires Me Up is a free twice a month newsletter designed help you get better and more confident about cooking with fire, and to create a community where we can all learn and grow together.

Free subscribers can expect a quick 5-10 minute read in their inbox twice a month featuring:

  • ‘But why?’ Myth busting and fire science geekiness (this is really what will help you be better at BBQ and fire)

  • A recipe or two a month - some will be original, some will come from my previous books (well, I have written 12 and have a huge back catalogue to play with)

  • A top subscriber ‘Question of the Month’ - email me your question and I will pick one to answer for the following newsletter

  • Kit and gadgets I love… ps. I don’t really like gadgets, my love for fire cooking is it’s beautifully analogue nature, so I won’t be spamming you into buying stuff you don’t need. But that said there are a few things that I find indispensable.

In addition to the regular free stuff there will be an opportunity to pay a small subscription (£4 a month, or £40 a year (a bargain at £3.33 a month!), no ongoing obligation, cancellable at any time) which will help support my work and allow me to grow this community.

As a paid subscriber you will get additional access such as:

  • Occasional live Zoom masterclasses which are great for those that want to come to Bristol Fire School but live too far away or can’t stretch to a full class fee (basically a bloody billy bargain way to learn from me!)

  • Behind the scenes content, get to know me and my work processes, how I write recipes, where I teach Bristol Fire School, the events I will be appearing at

  • Maybe the odd playlist, music rocks my world and I love almost every genre

  • Access to Q&A sessions, ask me a question and I shall answer

  • ‘A minute with’ - interviews with my fave chefs and fire cooks. Tongue in cheek, cheeky funny chats with my pals basically. The gossip and the low down, the things they are up to, the books they are writing

  • Occasional discount links to products I genuinely love
